I have included the
Website in the description of the group and it’s live.
I have also noted
the work done by the team in getting it up and maintaining it.
I have also posted
the link to the blog.
See the screen shot
below.
Let’s leverage our
combined efforts to grow the reach to a wider group of old boys.
I am trying to lift the momentum in the
short term but really cannot continue to support it an on-going basis so hope
that you guys will keep supporting the effort.

the original to be viewed. Don]

In a way, this latest development of the Mt.
St. Benedict Facebook page, which has now been prepared and initiated by
Gabriel Faria, might be a blessing to you, in that he would be relieving you of
the responsibility you have shouldered for so long in maintaining your website
on our behalf.
At least now, you can sit back and witness
the effect of your inspired work, as we now move into a new phase of digital
competency.
On behalf of all of us Old Boys, a sincere
and grateful "Thank You", Kazim.
Thank you for all that you have done for us,
and now - now, as you say, you have to try to support yourself and others who
depend on you.
May God be with you.

Guys,
I'm sorry to do this, but this is the last
message I shall be sending out to everyone regarding a meeting to discuss what
you fellas would like to do to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of MSB in
Trinidad.
No one has appointed me as any kind of
monitor or organizer for this event, and I am merely trying to arrange
something in keeping with the significance of this date.
I have asked for responses to my email and
so far I've received only two - one person says he'll come, and the other says
the venue should be elsewhere.
If this is the level of interest which, as a
group, we intend to show, then believe me - I'm finished with any more
organizing.
I don't intend to waste any more of my
precious time on issues which aren't deemed to be important.
So, either I hear from you fellas or I'm
done with trying to get something going for October.
Someone else can try instead.
No big deal. Just keep me informed and if I
can make it, I'll do so.
Have a great day.

Thanks, Gabe.
It's good to know that a few of you guys did
get together to plan an event for October, in commemoration of the 100th
Anniversary of MSB. I'm sorry that only 5 OB's got together though, but I'm
still glad to know that Canada was represented, in the person of Salah Wilson.
Good for you, Salah. However, in spite of the poor attendance, you still
managed to get the skeleton of a lovely program together. Well done. I hope
many more OB's get the msg and turn out in October.
On our side, in Ontario, no-one has yet
offered to organize our little event. But I'll try again, and this time, I'm
going to also try to change the date and time of our Holy Mass to match the
same time of your Mass in Trinidad, on October 6th, rather than the 7th.
May God bless your efforts.

Key points covered at our Old Boys Meeting
held at Trinidad Union Club on the 24th August 2012.
Old Boys in attendance
Joseph
Berment Mc-Dowald
James
Samaroo
Salah
Wilson
Rudi
Krasand Singh
Gabriel
Faria
No
attendees by Skype
Based on the limited participation and
contribution from the community it was suggested we limit the activities due to
the limited time and uncertainty as to exactly how many visitors will be coming
and the level of participating, going forward.
We would need to get confirmation from both
the foreign and local Old Boys to determine who will be attending to firm up
our arrangements for the various activities planned.
The following were agreed as possible
activities:
Friday evening
Lime at Trinidad Union club on Friday 5pm -
9pm
This event will not require any cash
contribution to join in.
There will be a cash bar and snacks
available for purchase.
Persons will need to confirm their
attendance 1 week prior
Saturday Morning
Mass at Mount 10am
We understand there will be a public
reception with tea plates and refreshments after
Saturday 1 pm, estimated
It was agreed that we would have a simple
function specifically to recognize Father Cuthbert and we would purchase a gift
for him.
Jimmy will arrange to have access to a
location at Mount to host the function.
We would also purchase small tokens for the
other monks approx value US$ 50.00 each
We are asking each old boy to contribute
US$50.00 for the purchase of the gift.
We have not confirmed what we are going to
buy for him but Jimmy will chat with him about it.
The possibly joining the monks for vespers
on Saturday at approx 3 pm was also suggested.
We will see if any old boys will consider
having a lime at their home on Saturday night.
Another option discussed was the possibly of
having a lime on the Chaguaramas board walk.
Everyone will walk with their own cooler and
food and other items to barbecue/share.
We will consider renting a tent for the
event that the weather turns inclement.
Wood for a bonfire and a barbecue pit could
all be arranged, if there is sufficient interest.
Sunday
The options discussed were:
A beach lime to Las Cuevas using a house
owned by Roger Juman - - Jimmy to check.
OR a beach lime at Maracas or any other beach
which is logistically practical
It was also recommended that we look at the
option of working with Curepe Roundabout a firm run by Joanne Williams who is
working on a magazine for the Centenary celebration to increase the advertising
revenue some of which could be contributed to the Mount and/or used to offset
expenses for the weekend. Rudi will be the lead on this and Gabriel will also
support the magazine by printing and distributing it a reduced price.
Salah Wilson who lives in Montreal and plays
the pan has expressed interest in returning for the functions and will be
willing to provide a musical interlude if other old boys will participate,
especially those who play an instrument - - Jam On The Beach.
We can generate an electronic flyer:
Rudi will look at providing the components
and Gabriel will get his graphic artist to produce.

Hi Laszlo,
I'l begin by thanking as always for your
ever constant efforts with the website - I am certain that you realise that
everyone will be at least as appreciative as I am of your generosity in
regularly making the effort with regard to the newsletter etc.
As you asked, I will respond. With regards
to the circulars and the newsletters, I only receive them very occasionally and
had no idea that they were distributed on such a regular basis, so if you can
adjust this that will be just wonderful. I have checked my SPAM folder to see if
perhaps they have inadvertently been going there, but that is not the case -
I'm afraid it must be the Gremlins this time.
Best regards,
Phillip Clegg
