Can you circulate the attachment which contains a signed statement of the collected monies which were collected for the gift for Fr. Cuthbert.
These are to act as receipts for the money collected by Gabe and Joe.

OK, my daughter back in Caracas tells me that I had received a message in my mobile in Caracas about Rascapelo's death...
This must have been Gabor Hoefle.
Just to clarify

This is not good news but as Father Peter once told me...Freddy the only sure thing in life is death !!!! This does not ease our feelings for Rascapelo!!!!
He was our good friend...we all are very sorry to hear this news...
I just do not know why Gabor Hoefle (his cousin) had not advised us earlier...
Thanks Peter for letting us know so that we may all elevate our prayers for him...
Yes Nigel he was an MD and lived in Venezuela ...
Retired in his beautiful house located next to a golf green and near the beach....
He was at mount in 1960 and around...
RASCAPELO I want to make a special prayer for you my PAL!!!
Please rejoice in Heaven as you did Down Here!!!
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR SOUL!!!
Andres (Freddy)

Dear George, Nigel & Peter,
Very sorry to hear this news about our brother Sr. Francisco Raffensperger, who was around 64- 66, still at a young age in this club, I will send to others who should remember him as a classmate.
May the lord bless his soul, as the Eagles fly over "White Stones today, to carry him home to that Castle in the sky, Amen.
Yours Faithfully, Glen McKoy / Canada.

Nigel,
My guess is that it was between 64 and 66,
George

Thanks for the info, Peter and Shish.
Sorry to hear about Rafi. I never knew him, as I don't think our paths crossed.
I wonder what year he graduated from MSB, so I can advise his classmates that he has gone home.
My records indicate that he had studied medicine in the USA.
Was he a doctor, then, and did he live in Venezuela too?
Sad that cancer has hit yet again - but it's one way for God to call us home, our jobs done.
And so, on to glory. I shall keep him and his family in my prayers as well.
Nigel

Hi George.
Based on the evidence provided, maybe I should retire from the oil industry and go on to golf or similar activity, just to increase my chances of surviving another 20 years of living.
Last week I went to the funeral of an “old” Mount boy, Francisco Raffensperger , Rafi as we all knew him, another victim of cancer.
He was my age, 65.
Enjoy your life and God bless.
Peter

Just received this from Gordon:
"Rafi, was a good friend at school and was in my class right up to form five.
Really sorry to hear he's moved on.
Always wondered what became of him."
Since Gordon did Form 5 in 1964, that can be Raffi's graduation year in Nigel's database.

RE: Refreshment Donation to MSB Centenary Celebration.
We have a shortfall of TT$ 2,000,00 on the budget (TT$8,000,00) for Refreshments towards MSB Centenary luncheon catering for 1200 persons on October 6th. All cheques collected were made payable to Incorporated Trustees of Mt St Benedict and forwarded to Fr Odo. Listed below are the contributors in TT$ :
1- Mike D Ornellas - $1.000.00
2- James Jimmy Samaroo - $1,000,00
3- Anand Rampersadsingh - $ 1,000.00
4- Winston Ramsahai - $1,000,00
5- Toddy Ramsahai - $2,000,00
This was a separate funding project from the "Gifts to the Monks" initated by Gabe Faria which is ongoing and needs URGENT support as we approach the final moments.
Regards
Winston

Joe,
Would you mind telephoning any of the Azar OB's to ask them for their emails, please?
I'm having a really difficult time to get any response from Michael.
Thanks for your help.

Hello Nigel,
I send Joe Azar Mount related stuff all the time, one of our many silent supporters.
I remember Joe well, when I was a boy in scouts he was a product of Cutty, ha! ha!
Dem guys don't joke man, I was 12 yrs old and scared like hell ha! ha!
Joe was the man, strict and always so serious, remember we won everything in the country, we were soldiers, in our minds ha! ha!,
I was on the mount in 1968, so I know Jimmy, Robert and Edmund.
They were the big guys, I remember Robert Aboud nice guy, we all hanged out around the school, so you had to know who was who,
Danny Essi? (Syrian) good friend also.
Nigel, so many mates are still missing, and we don't even have a clue, where they are, good luck in our quest, for The Lost Tribe.
Adios Amigos
Glen.

Hello, Joe.
I haven't heard from you in ages, and I hope this email finds you in good health and happiness.
I'm trying to find out the email addresses of the following Azar boys and I'm wondering whether you might be able to direct them to me:
> Joseph Azar (1955?)
> Jimmy Azar (1968?)
> Robert Azar (1969?)
> Edmund Azar (1971?)
As you know, i'm trying to complete the Old Boys database, of former students at MSB, which is the reason for my question.
Do you feel comfortable to forward these addresses?
if you are unsure about this, perhaps you can send all of the Azar "boys" MY email address and ask them, if they're interested, to contact me directly.
Thanks, Big Joe.
I appreciate your help.
Nigel

Gabriel Faria
Guys, I am wrapping up this exercise and this will probably be my last email on this topic and my last communication to the group
52 Old Boys contributed to this effort.
If you sent in a donation and your name is not on this list please let us know on this post.
I understand that Peter Sammy will be sending out receipts to each Old Boy.
Some people who made commitments did not come through but all in all it turned out well and the amount collected was more than we originally targeted.
Based on this we gave the monks a larger cash donation of US$750.00 instead and will also give Cutty more cash for spending money on his trip.
I would like to thank everyone for their support in this effort.
