Dear Friends,
The 100th year Anniversary celebration plans, nothing new.
I hope that the ASAA work up something so that those old boys who would
like to go to Mass at the Mount, can afterwards get together.
The planning would be good news for those who are planning to visit
Trinidad from overseas.
Also I am sure there are going to be a lot of old boys at the services.

In 2003 I was on holiday in Curacao, I had not touched a camera in over
10 years,
I bought one cheapo on impulse.
I wanted to take pics to use for Watercolour Paintings
These are photographs... with a HDR Filter Applied, that brings out the
details

Dear Glen,
All credit to you, my brother!!
You have continued to radiate and articulate a brave, noble and strong
heart (befitting the best degree of Knight).
And that spirit has emanated throughout cyber space, finding its way
into the corners of our individual lives with great nostalgia and reassuring
warmth.
Let me thank you, on behalf of all those copied here, for your great
work of leadership in keeping the troops together.
I enjoy your circulars and opinions when you care to share them.
Keep well and keep in touch always
Yours in fellowship
Jon

Dear Knights ,
To our brothers who have made the full Circle, their blood, sweat and
tears, you see it in their writings, their actions, and their contributions to
the Club.
This light we all share, the humbleness I see in so many great members,
that remain silent but are always there, this support we require to exist.
A few of us write and send around emails, keeping the circles connected,
but it gives me great pleasure to say, the Club is really doing well mi amigos,
so packed with so many newfound brothers, we have grown in the past four
years.
I will say that about 100 Knights are actively in connection at all
times.
These are the Knights that bring joy to my heart, for they ensure that
in this great Alumni of the Abbey School, Mt.St.Benedict/ Trinidad, will never
just disappear, as long as these" Knights of White Stones" are still
alive, they carry that Pride, that Honour, and the Glory they left the Mount
with, we are invisible, we are secret, we are everywhere, we care that's why we
are all still here.
We had a roll call the other day, and your name was on the list, my
friend,
Welcome to the Club Mi Amigos, Long Live the Knights, Long live the
Mount, Long Live the Realm.
May God Bless you all my brothers, and thank you for sharing your lives
with the Club.
Yours Faithfully
Glen McKoy/(Jr. Member of the Writers of the
Knights.16/07/2012.)

Dearest kazim,
For a long time now I have read many letters from Glen and many others
about doing something for Mount Saint Benedict and their boys.
I personally agree with much of what you said. but my personal opinion
is that the Abbot or the present priest don't want to be bothered or associated
with yours or old boys ideas, therefore my feelings is to forget about them.
Let’s those of us who are still alive get together buy a beautiful gold
ring with the emblem of the mount on it so that whenever we meet we can show it
off and stand tall together.
AH DONE WITH ALL OF THAT.QUE SERA SERA.

I be one!!!!
I sincerely acknowledge that the most fruitful years in my entire life
(actually 64) were those spent at the Mount.
Those few years (only three : 1959-60 and 61) have given me the force to
endure all the painful moments lived and also the most happy and plentiful
moments of my life.
Those few years gave me the discipline and values to live an overall
excel life.
I always told my off springs, and still tell my grands when I see
something done wrong , that the response has to be Benedictine and this is to
turn the evil into blessed.
I devotedly love my years at Mount. I devotedly love my Mount mates. I
devotedly love all Old Boys be they knights or whatsoever Scouts, Aqualads ,
St. Lawrence-Anthony-Francis and former Benedict House boys.
I learned a new language , the language of my grandmother, learned
sports , great achievement in swimming, enforced my catholic values, learned to
read and analyse the themes read , I feel that I am a citizen of the world , the
world of hope.
Endurance, patience, work, happiness, leisure...a Benedictine
life...father Peter used to tell me in his cell at the enclosure..
When you go back to the world you will be able to survive at all
chances, this survival is life...go and enjoy it.
When are we in Ontario having our 100 years reunion????
Best wishes to all of us!!! Cheers!!!

Dear Brothers in Christ
On the heels of the recent Trinidadian meetings and discussions in May
and as I continue to read the Circulars of the past, present and predicted
future, related e-mails and as we approach the One Century MSB celebration, the
following thoughts float through my crazy, inquisitive mind:
* The 100th anniversary has presented a very special opportunity to come
together to celebrate our educational heritage; personally, locally, nationally
and globally.
* Not sure what to make of the generous offer made by the committee/team
in Trinidad to help/assist/contribute to the 100th anniversary festivities
versus the perceived lukewarm responses received from the abbot.
* The alumni interest in MSB seems to range from passion to zero
interest whatsoever; the majority seem to be somewhere in between.
* Some of our brothers are personally extending themselves by making
financial offers to assist or using their free time and creativity to honour
some of our brothers.
* Our past teachers and mentors are down to a handful who will probably
be no longer with us within 5 to 10 years.
* There seems to be the following correlation: the bonds created at the
Abbey School have deteriorated as a direct function of the years when we
attended; there seems to be a closer relationship between those who attended
the Abbey School in its last years of existence versus those who attended in
its earlier decades (granted that many are in heaven today).
* The newer and decreasing numbers of newer monks and brothers
today have little value for the Abbey School since they were not part of that
experience; the current number of Benedictine monks and brothers plus the
general reduction rate over the last 50 years leads me to suspect that MSB as
we know will cease to exist........GOD AND PRAYERS ARE NEEDED TO REVERSE THE
CURRENT STATUS.
* We are a product of our experiences and for many the years at
the Abbey School were negative, painful, sad, etc.; many have
chosen to forget their years there. For other “boys” it seems to be
completely the opposite.
* Our numbers on earth have diminished and will continue to
significantly diminish over the coming decades. We are the so-called
“Baby Boom” generation.
* In their own right, many alumni have made a tremendous positive impact
to our world, society and all those different aspects that make God proud of
us.
* The world around us has certainly changed significantly and seems to
continue to do so on an exponential yearly basis; this has and will continue to
impact all of us.
* Wonder how many of us have returned to visit MSB after we left?
I returned once in 1968....a real long time ago. No plans to go back at
this time.
* Wonder how many will respond to this note? ........ or delete it
without reading it?
* Wonder how many of us have shared the MSB experience with our children
and grandchildren?
* Was the Abbey School a profitable financial venture for the
monks or did they lose money?
* FINALLY, I BELIEVE THAT MOST OF US STILL LOVE THE ABBEY SCHOOL/MSB AND
ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO GOD, OUR PARENTS, TEACHERS, MONKS, BROTHERS, SEMINARIANS,
OUR FELLOW BROTHERS (STUDENTS), ETC. FOR THAT EXPERIENCE.
A special thank you to Ladislao, Nigel, Don and all those others who
have demonstrated unselfish leadership and have contributed to all the
communications and all related activities that take place among us.
Look forward to hearing/reading your thoughts, reflections and any other
related insights; please share them in a positive and respective manner.
May God bless y’all and your families,
George ( Yury, Shish)

Dear Sandra,
Thank you for passing on the sad news of Wayne's death tonight.
We are so sorry to hear of this, and we can ask you and your family only
to accept our deepest, heartfelt sympathy.
Wayne was a good man, a strong man with very definite ideas, an oil man
of proven value and a great friend to many.
We are happy in the thought that he had received the Sacrament of the
Sick and that he has passed into eternal life comforted by the final blessings
of our Catholic Church.
May he rest in peace.
With our sympathy and love,
