Dear Friends,
Continuing with my short daily resume, this time to Las Cuevas and La Fillette at Chupara Bay.
La Fillette resort, see the brochure below as to the site, beautiful place.
Sorry for those that missed out.
http://trinidadandtobagoholidayresorts.com/Holiday_Resorts/Home.html
On Saturday 19 of May 2012, the programming was as follow:
Winston Ramsahai picked me up in the morning and we went to Don´s place on our way to Maracas, Las Cuevas and to La Fillette Resort.
Following a nice ride over the North Costal Road, we arrived at the gates of the beautiful set of houses overlooking the Chupara Bay.
By the time we arrived that was a reception committee and food to pick we must take our hosts for the welcome.
In the Aprils brochure of events, this place was not well advertised, but I must tell you that it was worthwhile the long drive.
Some hardy folks went for a swim but Don and I took a leave as there was a promise for Sunday´s fishing and a dip in the sea.

Dear Fellow Alumni,
Please find the financial statement attached.
If any would be so kind to contribute to making up the deficit incurred it would be helpful.
In the interest of transparency I have named all who have contributed cash to the activities.
If I have offended any who would prefer to remain anonymous please forgive me but you know that some are always concerned that money is properly accounted for, to the extreme.
As previously, some have promised but now seem reluctant to commit.
If I have forgotten to include any contribution that some may have made, please be so kind to call or e-mail and remind me.
I will be viewing the raw footage filmed on Monday on my return from vacation in July, after which I will publish the movie.
If anyone wants to join me in editing the documentary you are welcome.
I will need the pictures that Ladislao and Don took to create the best finished product.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and that of those who were my close collaborators (Jimmy Samaroo, Roger Juman, Chris Knowles, Gabriel Faria and Dennis Gurley) for the many words of encouragement and support which you have recently expressed.
sincerely,
Joe,

Good for you, Kazim.
I believe in collecting all your rights.
I have Grenadian, St Vincent, Kittitian, UK and Anguillian citizenships.
Regretfully, I have not yet collected my Grenadian or St Vincent passports.

Ladislao's visit

Good email, Hudson, and I too have congratulated Joe and his team for their fine work.
In fact, this schedule and agenda is the first time I have ever seen such a detailed and well thought out program of events, so well put together.
I hope that as many OB's as possible would try to get together, and I have today recommended to Richard Galt in Florida that he should try to make it.
Richard had said that he was hoping to get to one of the reunions, and I strongly suggested that this one was by far the most significant, and that he should try to attend.

Fellow Brothers,
In the spirit of brotherhood, we must try to understand the circumstances under which some of us get together.
As an outside of T&T mount boy I think we have to be more accommodating to the plans of our home brothers.
If the plans are with little or short notice then we have to live with their decision without the hostility and condemnation.
I'm sure they are doing their very best and we have to be more supportive in all our interactions.
I have lived out of Trinidad for many years and I know how challenging it is to put together any event in a timely and punctual manner in Trinidad.
I think we should ease up on our brothers and have a little more respect for their efforts.
Finally, I would like to commend the Trinidad Team for setting up a lively and professional itinerary of events.
I fully support Joseph and his team for this concerted effort and wish them all the best.
God Bless...

My dear brother & friend Bandit,
Thank You Amigo, as always for openly sharing you life with us, ha! ha!,
Your example of living the life, whatever you like to do, do it and have a good time doing it, forever.
David, the respect and love I have for you, the younger Knights may question why I praise you up so much, they must first understand, that Bandit went to the Mount in 1944, before the war ended and some of the monks were now coming from Europe
yeah those were the days, and bandit remembers everything like yesterday, and I just can't get enough from this friendship ha! ha!
I tell Bandit when I went to the mount half of the boarders were Venezuelans, Bandit say when he went to the mount it had only one Venezuelan, and his name was Oscar ??
Not our Oscar Cantore, that's another story ha! ha!, maybe a Venezuelan Knight may know of this 1st Venezuelan on the mount.
Anyhow the Club presents, The Bandit Strikes Again.
Headed by one of our own great-grandmasters himself, Bandit,
Smooth, a relaxed speed, sweet little number mi amigo, you have made the club calypso, best of the best my friend.
From the Club of Spartans, where every Knight is so unique in their own way, a world in another world,
Cheers Glen.

My Dear Trevor,
Thank you for this, you just solved a part of our puzzle.
It's so good to hear from you man, but ah guess we had to ask the right question ha! ha! to get your attention,
I will like to know what ever happened to this 1st Venezuelan brother, now we have the full name.
I hope all is well best regards to you and the family, have a great summer mi amigo, Cheers Glen.

Joseph Berment-McDowald visit to Toronto
FROM: Joseph Berment-McDowald
Monday, May 14, 2012 4:36 PM
Dear Nigel,
I very much appreciate David's initiative.
I and David haven’t seen or spoken to one another for over twenty years, although I remember him very kindly.
Rory, David, Marlon and the Guio’s and I have always been especially close.
We are coming to TO in the 1st instance to attend a wedding and will only be in town for a few days on our way to Hong Kong .
Regrettably, I have business to attend to whilst in Toronto and the only free day is Sunday 3rd of June.
I hadn't planned that any fuss would be made about my visit, although I always love to see as many Old Boys as possible.
If we can have an intimate tête-à-tête over a meal it would be wonderful.
I don't expect anything and wouldn't want anyone to go out of their way.
I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to come from out of province to see me or for anything to be planned around me.
We will also be in town between June 21st and 26th, which would provide better opportunities to get together, especially after work and on the week end.
We normally stay at the Extended Stay Deluxe Hotel, in Vaughan , which has a certain convenience for small gatherings.
The manager knows us and may be facilitative, especially if I don’t try to negotiate down our room rate.
Sincerely,
Joseph Berment-McDowald

Dave,
I'm afraid this may be too much of an overkill.
We had 2 visitors here on May 4th and had a "Roti Night" for them at Rotilicious.
Then we expect Kazim Abasali here in June and have begun "pre-planning' for a little get together with him.
Now, you say that Joe is arriving at the end of May.
I've not heard from Joe about this and would like to hear from him.
If he'd like to meet with the guys, I'd like to know specifics - day, time, availability, etc. and I'll see what I can do to get some of the fellas together.
Joe, please respond. (Any chance that you might plan to be here at the same time as Kazim?)

Joseph Berment, another Mount old boy, is coming to TO. at the end of May.
When were you thinking of having the next Roti lime as I know he would be interested in seeing some of the people up here

My sincere thanks too, to everyone for getting together last night.
It was great seeing you again, Cornel, Mike and friend Gene, and fantastic to meet George, Andres and family, Trevor and of course, the amazing Mr. McKoy and your lady, Marion.
A sincere and special thanks to Cornel for handling the invitations and the arrangements for the roti night.
A special welcome too, to Andres on his immigration 2 days ago to Canada.
Now that you know where Ajax is, please keep in touch.
We need to talk.
Thanks for bring Lourdes, Alicia, Luis, Oriana and Victoria.
And finally, what a nice surprise to find a completely unknown Trevor Davis, who unpretentiously emerged from the deep recesses of Rotilicious asking, "I'm supposed to meet some Old Boys of Mt. St. Benedict here.
Do you know who they are?" Great meeting you, Trevor. By the way, Trevor, George has asked me to forward this link to you:
I'm glad that we were able to end the evening by offering a short prayer for the happy repose of the soul of our confrere of days past, Wayne Henderson, who died last week of cancer.
God rest his soul.
And lastly, Glen, thanks for your generosity in covering the cost of the rotis and drinks for the night.
This was quite unexpected and kind of you. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to reciprocate.
Until next time.
