Dear Sir:
I was a student, somewhat briefly, at the Abbey School in 1955, at the age of fourteen (14).
I stumbled across your Email correspondence by accident when searching for something (someone, actually) else on line.
It brought back memories.
I well remember Brother Vincent (the Bursar), Father Bernard (the Headmaster), the Castro brothers (Renaldo, Pedro and Timino...students) Alan Laughlin, Vernon De Lima and many others from the two (2) terms that I spent as a "boarder" at that school, in 1955.
Also, prior to my attendance there, my cousin from Martinique, (now of Canada) Alain Devaux, was also a student-boarder at the school.
I would be DELIGHTED to hear from you, and any others who attended the Abbey School.
I am:

My Dear Brother Cornel,
(Please find your gift attached ha! ha!)
Always a pleasure to hear from you, whenever you write about the members of that Club of Sacred, Secret, Circle of Imaginary friends you call the "Knights of White Stones", from a Castle in the Sky, on an Island hidden under the Sun.
Your way of writing is so expressive it pulls me back into that time capsule, like all the Writers of The Knights, you go straight for the Heart,
It almost feels like being there again.
Cornel you are such a wonderful person, thru the ups and downs, you always remain faithful and ready to share a pray.
You are Blessed my Brother in so many ways,
Do hope you and Mike and the boys have a really Merry Christmas and the best of the New Year,
Best Regards
Glen McKoy

Cornel- THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.
Thank-You from CLUB.
Season Greetings,
Mis Amigos &Mis Hermanos.

Dear Brothers:
We are a most "Most Special Brotherhood" indeed !
A brotherhood of young men, who over the years, have formed a relationship, a friendship, a bond, held together as though a golden thread of Love has been woven through the fabric of our lives.
That although we may not have attended at the same time, we did share many of the same years and experiences together.
The bond is strong, because we grew up together as brothers.
We were taught values, morals and learned to care for one another, and by replacing a lot of uncertainty and fears with trust and understanding.
This all took place at The Abbey School, high up on a mountain top we all remember as Mount St. Benedict.
As our dear Brother Glen McKoy loving refers to it as "The White Castle in the Sky", not far from rocks we all know as "White Stones".
We are a privileged group. There is no denying it.
Even though some of us may never have even met some of the others, the mere fact that our lives overlapped, by attending a most amazing school, high up in the clouds, on the top of a mountain that served as our home for many of the earlier years of our young lives, is a remarkable thing.
As we grew into young men and moved forward in years, we are still able to look back and marvel at how truly blessed we have been.
My Dear brothers, I Love you all, and with the following message, I wish you an abundance of Our Lords blessings to you, your families and loved ones.

Hi Ladislao;
The following is a brief update on David and Simon......
David Da Costa
Born 1943
Died July 24th, 2001 (In hospital in Canada for treatment)
After graduating McGill University in Montreal Canada returned to home in Barbados where he married Claire Anne Le Cour from Martinique.
Went to work for Pitfield, McKay Ross in Montreal Canada, eventually moving to Toronto Ontario where he was a trader on the Toronto Stock Exchange floor.
Resided in Canada for some 7 years, and then moved back to Barbados as manager of Chase Manhattan Bank.
In the 1990’s started his own Equity Banking Company in Barbados called Caribbean Financial Services Corporation.
David is survived by his wife and three children.
I’m married to David’s widow Claire and we now reside between Canada and Barbados. Of David’s three children, all are married, one still lives in Barbados, one in Toronto Canada and one in Dubai UAE.
Simon Da Costa
Simon is retired and resident in Auckland New Zealand with his wife of some 40 years.
I would like to obtain any photo of David and Simon you might have from their Mount St. Benedictine school years in Trinidad.
I'm trying to put together information for David´s three children.

Dear Roger
I have no curriculum vitae for David, no information for posterity, no photos or whatsoever, it would be nice to have at least 50 words for the files.
I have photos for Simon but no curriculum vitae.
Of course any photos of the era or news about the school would be welcomed for publishing in the Circular
God bless
Ladislao

Hello;
My name is Roger Thompson and noticed that you made some inquiries (2006) about Davis and Simon Da Costa of Barbados and Abbey School.
If you still require information I might be able to provide some as I'm married to David Da Costa's widow.

Thanks, Salvador.
I really hadn't noticed that the picture was taken alongside a water tank.
There were no tanks on site when I was at school at MSB.
We relied on a VERY small dam fed by a TINY stream up in the hills behind the school.
There was even supposed to be a small alligator in the dam, but I've never seen one, and I have my serious doubts about that.
Whenever we ran out of water, we received a truck-borne water supply from St. Augustine, down the hill.
Anyway, I think we've done enough work on this photograph, thanks to a lot of guys who tried to identify the boys.
Thanks again.
So, here you go, Laz.
Here's another photograph for you, with ID's done to the best of our ability.
Best wishes.
Nigel

Hi Nigel.
I will have to say to the best of my recollection that it should be at least a 1970 prep class.
Mr. Mark was my prep teacher when I arrived in 1967 and then I repeated prep again.
Prep class was moved to the carpentry building up there by the water tanks and if you can see the photo was taken by one of the tanks.
Hope it helps.
God bless.

OK.
Made the changes.
Now, do you think this was a Prep Class, or Form 1 or Form 2?

Hey Nigel.
# 12 definitely is not Pascal Baralt. Don't remember his name,
# 10 is Gangaram Rampersad,
# 4 is Gustavo Achong.
Hope to see you soon.
Best wishes.
Salvador. God bless.
